Don't enter a deal blindly. Utilize domain estimate tools, examine the backlink and site history, and research market trends and recent sales.

Determine the range at which you'd like to sell the domain, including your ideal price, a satisfactory price, and the lowest price you'd accept.

Pay special attention to:

• Keywords in the domain and their ease of spelling.

• Brandability of the domain.

• Amount of authority backlinks (Links from Wikipedia, or any other large outlet is always a huge selling point)

• TLD (Top-Level Domain). Most buyers look for .coms but I’ve generated sales for other TLDs before.

• Length of the domain name.

• Domain history

• Any niche the domain name would associate with.

Step 3: Negotiate The Price 

Armed with your estimated value, reach out to domain owners and negotiate the price.

Be prepared to stick to your budget during auctions and walk away if the bidding exceeds your limit.

Don’t get too attached to a domain. There’s a ton of them out there.

Ensure a safe transaction by using an escrow service, especially when dealing with domain owners directly. It's a crucial step to protect all parties involved in the transaction.

If it’s through auctions, then the registrar will handle a safe transaction.
